Membership

The Salt Lake Board of Realtors® welcomes new real estate agents, brokers, appraisers, and affiliates! Agents must go through the Utah Division of Real Estate to activate their licenses and place them with a Realtor®-member broker before joining the Salt Lake Board of Realtors®. Once your license is active with a Realtor®-member broker, you have 30 days to join the Board. We look forward to working with you!

HOW TO JOIN OR REACTIVATE
  1. Complete the appropriate application and email to [email protected].
  2. Once your application is received, we will email you a quote for your initial joining dues. You can respond by email or phone with any questions or to authorize payment.

BILLING CYCLE & FEE SCHEDULE
Our billing cycle is a fiscal year and runs July 1 – June 30. Your annual dues amount is determined by your member type (Realtor®, affiliate, primary, secondary, etc.). Some portion of your dues may be tax deductible. See our 2024 DUES DISCLOSURE for more information. Click to see our 2024-2025 FEE SCHEDULE. You can always call us for help and specifics regarding your dues.

*Dues are subject to annual review (and possible change) by the Salt Lake Board of Realtors®, the Utah Association of Realtors®, and the National Association of Realtors®. Dues are non-refundable, and once paid, become the property of the Board.
ANNUAL DUES OPTIONS

RENEW: When you join the Board, dues are prorated to cover the month you join through the end of June. All members renew their Board membership each June, regardless of their join date or license renewal date. Members who join in the first half of the year will pay dues twice that year (prorated dues when they join and renewal dues in June).

Annual dues are billed in May. Dues amounts will vary, depending on membership type. Please plan ahead so you can make one full payment (no installment plans).
Dues paid by June 30: On Time
Dues paid by July 31: Within Grace Period – No Late Fee
Dues paid after July 31: Late – Membership Expired ($350 Re-Entry Fee)

We send multiple reminders via email, text, and mail. You are responsible for keeping your contact information up-to-date (informing the Board of any updates to contact information) and enabling your email/phone to receive these reminders. We do not have an autopay option. Please mark your calendar and pay on time to avoid additional fees!

INACTIVATE: If you wish to inactivate your membership for a time, you can pay a $75 inactive fee instead of your renewal dues. This waives the $350 re-entry fee when you reactivate. For this option, you must either inactivate your license (through the Division) or place your license with a non-member brokerage. You can remain on “Inactive Status” with the Board for up to three years, paying $75 per year. You must call Member Services (801-542-8840) for this option.
