Real estate licensees are required to complete a minimum of 18 continuing education hours every two years, as part of their license renewal. Of these 18 hours, at least 9 of them must be CORE hours. The Salt Lake Board of Realtors® is committed to providing current, quality education. With few exceptions, our live CE courses are free for Salt Lake Board of Realtors® members.

REQUIRED COURSES FOR NEW MEMBERS
The following courses are offered live in the Membership & Education Center on the first floor of the Realtor® Campus. Schedules and registrations for these live courses can be found on our calendar.
- Board-Required Courses (must be taken within 60 days of activating your SLBR membership)
- Code of Ethics (3 CORE) – Required for setting up your Supra key; can be taken live or online
- Realtor® Essentials (4 CORE) – Required to maintain Supra access; can be taken live
- Division-Required Courses (must be taken in your first 2-year license renewal cycle)
RECURRING REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL MEMBERS
- Code of Ethics: This course is not required for your license renewal. However, all Realtors®, Appraisers, and Affiliates with Keys must take a class on the NAR’s Code of Ethics once every three years to keep their Realtor® association membership in good standing. The current NAR requirement covers January 1, 2022 – December 31, 2024.
- Mandatory Residential Course: As of January, 2020, this course is required for your license renewal. All real estate licensees must take this course once every two years, as part of their continuing education requirements. If this course is not on your transcript, the Utah Division of Real Estate will not allow you to renew your license.
