American Dream Grant

Homeownership matters. That is why the Salt Lake Board of Realtors® started the American Dream Grant. We love giving back to our community and started the American Dream Grant in 2019. This year, we will be awarding 24 down payment grants ($5,000 each) to first-time homebuyers! These grants have been awarded to individuals including first responders, school district employees, single parents, veterans/military personnel, and more. Submitting multiple applications for the same grant does NOT increase your chances of winning. Applicants must be clients of Salt Lake Board of Realtors® members. The Salt Lake Board of Realtors® is happy to help people achieve the dream of homeownership!

REQUIREMENTS: First time homebuyer ǀ Credit score greater than 640 ǀ Household income at/below $102,400 for 1-2 people or at/below $117,700 for 3+ people ǀ Realtor is primary SLBR member ǀ Owner-occupied home (modular & manufactured homes qualify; mobile homes do not) ǀ Close on purchase within 90 days of grant closure date ǀ Be pre-qualified before applying

DETAILS: If transaction closes before the grant is awarded, the applicant is no longer eligible. If awarded a grant, a check is sent directly to the title company (not the grant recipient). Funds may be used for closing costs. This grant comes from SLBR Charities, a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity (#9561282-0140), which is funded by donations. The American Dream Grant does not need to be repaid, nor will any lien be placed on the home.
