Salt Lake Board of Realtors® Welcomes New President

SANDY (Jan. 12, 2018) – Adam Kirkham, branch broker of Summit Sotheby’s International Realty Salt Lake City, has been elected and installed as the 2018 president of the Salt Lake Board of Realtors®, a trade association making up more than 8,000 real estate professionals.

Kirkham earned his real estate license in 2005 after completing a double major in biology and French at the University of Utah. Kirkham will serve a one year term as president. He begins his year in one of the hottest real estate markets ever recorded. The Wasatch Front is a strong seller’s market with demand for houses outpacing supply. Millennials are expected to make up 43 percent of home buyers by the end of this year. These factors contributed to Salt Lake City being named the No. 6 Top Housing Market in America for 2018, based on largest sales and prices gains, according to realtor.com.

“I expect a continued increase in home values and sales this year,” Kirkham said. “Affordable housing will be a hard product to find. The median price of a home sold in Salt Lake County in November reached $303,500. Nationally, the median home price during the same month was $248,000.”

The U.S. Census Bureau recently ranked Utah the No. 3 fastest growing population, adding more than 57,000 people in the past year and pushing Utah’s population to 3.1 million people. More than two-thirds of those people live along the Wasatch Front.
